Joey Cordola is a 2022 C/1B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Saugus, CA who attends Saugus. A lean, medium size athletic frame. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with a side saddle set up, quicker feet and transfer, with average arm strength and throws consistently on the bag. At 1B shows fundamental footwork, solid glove work fielding it out front and funneling to the waist. Shows athleticism around the bag and getting off the bag to field with a strong accurate arm. Hits from a narrow upright stance with a big leg kick timing. Hits into a stiff front side with a level and controlled bat path through the zone. There's some bat speed in there with solid gap to gap ability and occasional back spin drives when he extends through it. Named to the California Workout Showcase Top Prospect List.
