Gabe Sand is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Seymour, CT who attends St. Joseph. Recorded a 7.01 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with a high waist and room to add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher that works from a full windup delivery with a belt high leg lift and medium stride out to foot strike. Fastball worked in the low-70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 74 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower with ability to move the fastball around the zone, mixed in slower curveball that varied in shape and flashed occasional depth to it. Will continue to improve with additional velocity and refinements mechanically. Secondary outfielder with anticipatory actions into the fielding process, fairly clean funnel off to the side and developing arm strength up to 74 mph during drills. Maintains some momentum into release and displayed accuracy with his throws. Right handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half and subtle bat wrap to get to launch, while displaying consistent contact and good feel for the barrel. Middle-of-the field approach with looseness to his hands and good extension out in front. Fundamentally sound overall tools with offensive upside, will continue to improve with additional strength and small adjustments mechanically. Good Student.
