2022 PG Softball Winter Scouting Combine - Iowa
Anna Engberg is a 5-foot-6, class of 2024 SS/IF, OF from Burlington, IA who attends Notre Dame HS. Anna is a talented, quick twitch athlete who plays with a consistent approach to her game that should bode well for her future in the sport. In addition to her solid game on the field, Anna is also a recognized achiever in the classroom. She ran a 5.75 40-yard dash and was timed at 3.75 from home to first. She also posted a 6'1 standing broad jump. A primary middle infielder, Anna is a quality defender who has a smooth and comfortable approach to her game on the dirt. She shows quick feet and positions routinely. She plays through the fielding action fluidly and her soft hands allow her glove to field with a rare ability for a player at this particular point in their development. She transitions quietly and efficiently and her powerfully strong arm gets her 61-mph throws on-line and on target with routine effort. At the plate, this RHH is easy and consistent with the bunt game. She starts with a wider base and has a short, quiet, and quick load. She shows a quick trigger and a flatter bat path. She is a line driver who impacts the ball well. She did flash a little natural power, but that is not her game. She is just a natural hitter who can strike the ball. Anna has a very bright future! With added strength and agility, as well as exposure to higher level competition, Anna is certain to be afforded the chance to play and play well at the next level. Promising future ahead!
