Grant Rodriguez is a 2023 SS/OF with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Simi Valley, CA who attends Thousand Oaks. Smaller frame with a young lean build. Ran a 7.72 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows good lateral range moving around the dirt, shows easy footwork and works under the ball with the glove, adjusts his arm slot well on the move and projects well with added arm strength. Also worked out in the outfield, takes a clean approach to the ball and funnels it on his front carrying his momentum through receiving well into a clean release and accurate throws. Left-handed hitter, sets up even and coils into his load; uses his hands well to get the barrel out and creates some bat speed with the quickness in his wrists but generates best impact when he engages the lower half. Simple line drive approach and is able to go with the pitch and use the whole field. Great student.
