Charlie Cassingham is a 2025 SS/RHP/C with a 5-6 125 lb. frame from Huntsville, AL who attends Grissom. Young and slender athletic build. 7.53 runner in the sixty, moves well laterally on defense at shortstop, has a feel for his glove and fields the ball cleanly out front, active feet and can make plays on the move, makes accurate throws. Also catches and his athleticism plays well at that position, has a chance behind the plate if he can get enough repetitions and get bigger. Left handed hitter, hits from a narrow, open start with a hanging front leg load, has good hand quickness, will get a bit over rotational with his upper half at times but can drive the ball when his barrel gets out front on time. Also pitched and showed impressive young arm strength as a pitcher. Works from the stretch with a high leg raise start, compact arm action with good arm speed, uses his lower half very well to drive to the plate. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, gets some running action to get off barrels, curveball had good power and bite as well, threw strikes with both pitches. Nice young athlete who is going to really take a step forward with more size and strength. Named to the 14U Fall Gulf Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
