Gavin Gentry is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Jeffersonville, IN who attends Borden. Nice young pitchers build with some strength in his hops and plenty of physical projection. High leg tuck delivery, good lower half direction to the plate, loose and clean arm action to a high 3/4's arm slot, good extension out front, works with a deliberate pace and showed good overall delivery awareness. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight but missed barrels with it. Gets over his curveball well and lands it consistently for strikes. Very good bet to continue to improve on the mound as he gets stronger. 7.23 runner, has athletic actions through the ball in the outfield, smooth and fluid arm action. Left handed hitter, hits from a tall and narrow stance with a big weight shift forward, line drive swing plane with a mid field to pull side approach, gets out front and handles the barrel well. Good student.
