Jake Mathis is a 2024 3B/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Apex, NC who attends Pro5 Baseball Academy. Lean athletic build with plenty of physical projection ahead of him. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a tense and still hand start, has some hand quickness that would be improved by some hand rhythm into his swing, long stride out front into contact, develops some bat speed with a nice swing plane and good barrel to ball skills, gap to gap contact. 7.39 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front with good fundamentals, compact arm with good carry for a freshman and makes accurate throws. Also plays the outfield and shows the same type of solid arm strength and carry for his age. Solid all around player and athlete who will keep improving as he continues to get stronger. Excellent student.
