Jake Ellison is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Long Beach, CA who attends St. John Bosco. Medium build, primary outfielder with solid throws to all bags. Moves to and through the ball well and is meticulous with his reads. Longer arm stroke from the outfield, creates leverage with his throws. On the hill, has a shorter arm action from a high three-quarters slot. 74-77 mph fastball possesses some sinking action. Really leans back into his high leg lift. Has confidence in his 67 mph changeup, good pitch with deception from his arm action. High 11-to-5 to 12-to-6 curveball deems effective at generating outs. Has a feel for the zone and his arsenal. At the plate, uses a spread stance. Short and compact stroke with hands that work to stay inside the ball. Present strength with ability to muscle balls into the gaps. Solid pop when barreled. Good student with a 3.6 GPA.
