Tyler Nelson is a 2021 RHP/IF/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from La Quinta, CA who attends Shadow Hills. Medium frame with a lean build and good room to fill out. Ran a 7.31 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, has a slower-paced and controlled delivery with good balance, works with a quick arm through an over the top release, generates some life to the fastball with ride up in the zone, shows solid feel for a very tight slider that he tunnels well off the fastball and mixed in a more vertical curveball with bigger break. Also worked out in the outfield, takes a slower approach to the ball but works explosively through the funnel to release with a quick arm and some present arm strength. Right-handed hitter, sets up even and uses a small trigger for timing; has some length to the path but shows projectable bat speed and rotates well to get the barrel out and lift the ball to the middle of the field. Great student.
