Oscar Vargas-Pacheco is a 2021 C/1B, OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Bound Brook, NJ who attends Rutgers Preparatory. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 40 yard dash in 5.19 seconds. Hits from open and staggered stance, big leg lift trigger, barrel tip in load, hands stay tight to chest pre-launch, can really impact the ball pull-side when on time, good strength and leverage. Primary catcher, side-saddle set, stride out of crouch is inline, double-move out of crouch, good footwork, gains ground, solid arm strength, clocked up to 73 mph. Also took 1B reps and threw 79 mph with good footwork. Very good student.
