Jacob Knox is a 2023 C/1B with a 5-11 178 lb. frame from Edmond, OK who attends Edmond North. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, compact set up behind the plate, receives the ball out front with a quick transfer, comfort throwing from knees and shows accuracy down to second base, upright release when popping out and can continue to refine footwork and lower half mechanics, full arm action through the back. Similar full arm action at first base, shows balance to actions on the turn with a quick transfer. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Weight starts on backside, shows a long path through the zone with looseness to hands. Looks to lift at the point of contact and incorporate physical strength, can implement additional weight shift moving into contact. Very good student.
