Cooper Shrum is a 2026 RHP/UT with a 6-2 150 lb. frame from Belton, MO who attends Belton. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and a high waist, square shoulders, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.21 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, slow and deliberate pace of tempo to delivery, controls long levers very well for size/age; quick arm through the backside, throws easy and works to an extended three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, big life to the arm side at times and maintains it up in the zone as well, pitches with confidence on the mound. Nice spin on the curveball with depth and bite when on top up to 66 mph, consistency will continue to refine; flashed a changeup at 68 mph in this look. Worked around the zone and athleticism translates well into actions. Similar low slot on throws across the diamond, hands play nicely out front and shows accuracy with throws on to first base, will continue to polish overall actions. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; does a nice job of staying short to the ball, best contact when getting extended out front, bat speed will continue to develop with added strength, shows occasional lift through the point of contact and picked up a couple knocks in live action. Selected to the 2021 13u PG Select Festival.
