Jordy Stern is a 2007 OF/P/IF with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Albuquerque NM, who attends Albuquerque Academy. He as a strong, athletic body and looks bigger than his listed size. Stern ran the 60 in 7.55 and threw 77 mph during outfield drills. He moves easily to the ball in the outfield and will improve his outfield arm strength with some fundamental mechanical adjustments. Offensively, Stern has a rotational upper body swing with stiff arms to the ball. His raw strength gives him bat speed at contact and the ball jumped hard when Stern got his pitch to drive. It isn't a very flexible hitting approach when it comes to making adjustments or projecting down the road but Stern has the strength to pull it off right now. Stern also pitched and threw 75 mph on his fastball and kept the ball down in the zone well. His 66 mph slider had good rotation and bite at times. Stern is an outstanding student.
