Gage Wilson is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-8 240 lb. frame from Cairo, MO who attends Northeast RIV (Cairo). Recorded a 7.35 second 60 yard dash time. Extra-large frame with some bulk to the build, still some room to fill moving forward. Primary right-handed pitcher, comes from a three-quarters slot and creates some angle to the delivery. Pitches to contact and shows solid action on the fastball that he was able to miss bats with at times. Definite funk and deception to the delivery that makes for an uncomfortable at bat. Competed well during his outing, threw a lot of of strikes and kept balls off barrels, moved the fastball over both edges. Sat 77-79 with the fastball, also flashed a slider at 70 mph. Secondary first baseman, made accurate throws with a short arm stroke, turns well and had a clean round overall. Right-handed hitter with an even base and low and deep hand load, utilizes a lift and replace trigger. Limited bat tilt prior to launch, not much lower half drive or usage in the operation. Long and flat swing, produced some solid line drive contact thanks to his strength and long levers. Excellent student.
