Otis McDuffie is a 2020 1B/LHP with a 6-0 205 lb. frame from Plantation, FL who attends St. Thomas Aquinas. Strong build and a mature body, has projection with room to firm and add strength. A primary first baseman was good on the dirt, balanced through out fielding and turns to bases. Comfortable with balls in the dirt and has ability to adjust his feet around the bag. Throws were accurate to the bases. A secondary pitcher uses a big rocker step to create momentum into balance, stays compact through lift and release. High 3/4 slot with a whippy arm across the body, creating deception. Mixed a curveball with big 12/6 break and repeated his release point on the pitch. The left-handed hitter has a wide and balanced set up, limited movement to create some strength in the swing. Simple process with good timing and some lift to the pull side. Power will continue to play with development. Extremely good student.
