Iyke Aghanya is a 2020 1B/RHP with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Oak Hill, VA who attends Oakton. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front, shows balance to actions and moves well, maintains balance on pivot, ball comes out of hand easily and shows ability to drop slot on throws. Also pitched, works exclusively out of the stretch, balanced delivery and maintains direction down the mound; similar clean arm stroke working to a high three-quarters release point at release. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, ball jumps out of hand with low effort delivery, mostly true in life. Has a feel for curveball with late bite and 11-5 shape, flashed a changeup at 72 mph with fading life to arm side. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Upper body dominant swing, can continue to unlock additional strength with lower half incorporated. Simple swing and ball jumps when squared, showed carry off the barrel to the middle of the field and can also turn on the ball. Very good student.
