Braden Horsley is a 2019 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from South Jordan, UT who attends Bingham HS. Large, square shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.96 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front with a wide base, takes short steps moving towards the ball, funnels into a short and tight arm action, taller at release and can continue to implement additional lower half into release. Also pitched, works quickly on the mound; big hip turn at top of delivery, similar compact arm action and hides ball nicely while working to a tight three-quarters release. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, shows occasional cut action and mixed in a slider that flashed depth to it at 68 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance in the box and utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Stays short to the ball with path and keeps hands inside the baseball, incorporates physical strength well. Shows jump off the barrel and able to drive ball in game, shows looseness with leverage, occasionally gets mistimed, hands work well in swing. Very good student.
