Gabe Sabatelli is a 2020 RHP/1B, OF with a 5-11 152 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends William Henry Harrison. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Medium leg lift and stays balanced at gather. Worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high energy, three-quarters slot. Fastball generated solid downhill tilt in the mid 70's, topped at 77 miles per hour. Breaking ball displayed 11/5 shape with tight spin and late depth in the low 70's. Showed developing feel for the zone with both fastball and breaking ball offerings. Also worked out defensively from first base showing clean, athletic footwork while working off the bag and centering the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange well. Generated accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 81 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and reaching front side trigger. Generated solid shift into contact with lower half. Direct hand path to baseball with a fluid, naturally lifted barrel plane. Displayed good feel for the barrel and consistently worked to the middle of the field on a line. Higher ceiling as an first base prospect at this time.
