Leonel Kalifa JR is a 2024 SS/RHP, 3B, OF with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Edinburg, TX who attends Edinburg. He ran a 7.66 second sixty. A primary shortstop with a young lean build. On the infield he showed some feel for the glove before sinking low into his gather as he builds momentum into his throws, arm strength in developing but will get better as he matures. On the mound he showed a shorter arm action as he landed his fastball to both halves of the plate in the 64-68 mph range and topped out at 71 mph, he did a nice job maintaining his line to the plate and showed a curveball with some 11-5 shape. Right-handed hitter, utilizes a hight leg lift from a narrow stance, keeps his head down on the ball at the point of contact as he shift his weight forward, the barrel enters the zone steep and planes out with a long finish as he looks to impact the ball on a line. Very good student.
