Jack Roode is a 2020 C/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Denver, CO who attends Kent Denver. Strong build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.70 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Employs a side saddle start with clean, confident, deeper receiving actions. Displayed good footwork working from behind the plate into throws to second base. Flashed quick transfers with good arm strength posting a 2.00 second pop time and topping out at 73 MPH from behind the plate. Left handed hitter. Employs a narrow open stance with a leg lift trigger. Flashed a high intent swing with a flatter bat path through the zone creating good bat speed. Displayed the ability to get the barrel out front with good barrel speed and control creating consistent loud contact to the middle and pull fields. Worked a loud line drives to middle and pull side consistently during batting practice also showing some gap to gap power. In games showed impressive opposite field power with a loud home run to left field. Good student.
