John Fendrich is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Red Bank, NJ who attends Middletown South. Small and stocky build with broad shoulders. Ran a 4.99 second 40 yard dash. Primary outfielder, attacks the ball quickly with short steps fielding the ball with two hands, reaches back deeply into arm circle keeping causing momentum to the plate to be slowed, pulls front side through, effort at release getting on top of throws, topped out at 78 mph from the outfield. Also pitched, starts windup with a side step to a belt high leg lift, long arm action up to an overtop slot, gets good use of front side but arm is late getting through the circle, likes to elevate the fastball. Righthanded hitter, even stance with a high hand set that sits away from body, weight sits on backside, simple leg lift trigger, long path to contact with some line drive contact, needs to get stronger for more pop off the barrel.
