Blake Beckley is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Mission Viejo, CA who attends Capistrano Valley HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulder and long limbs, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball on feet and takes an extra step through release, ball comes out clean and works on top of the ball well, shows carry to intended base, can continue to work over front side at release, projectable tools. Also pitched, compact arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release. Works on top of the ball, topped out at 74 mph, mostly true in life. Pitched to contact and threw strikes, curveball showed 11-5 shape when on top. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set in the box. Utilizes a double toe tap trigger for timing; shows looseness to hands and employs a short and quick stroke through the zone. Hits the ball out front and has a handle for the barrel, comes off well when squared to the middle of the field, occasionally gets under the ball at point of contact. Very good student.
