Merritt McPherson is a 2019 3B/1B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Lubbock Christian HS. Solid and athletic build. Primary third baseman. Releases the ball from a compact arm from a short arm action. Ball comes out cleanly with good carry across the diamond topping out at 80 miles per hour. Has good range especially for size. Moves laterally with good footwork. Softer hands with a strong transfer. Righthanded hitter with good balance in stance. Slight hand wrap at load. Hands are quick to the ball and showed strength in the swing. Gets best contact when pulling the baseball. Showed a naturally elevated path through the ball. Has some raw tools to with the potential to develop upon. Very good student.
