Phillip " PJ" Ramsey is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Phenix City, AL who attends Phenix City Central. Large frame with broad shoulders, long limbs and present strength. Primary outfielder with deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels out front with two hands and works through exchange with developing fluidity. Loose arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced uphill carry to the bag topping at 76 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Inside hand path to contact with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Showed developing feel for the barrel and generated good jump to the gaps when on time and squared. Also pitched worked exclusively from the stretch. Small leg lift and worked to the plate with tall and fall lower half actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated occasional downhill tilt through the zone in the mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball produced 10/5 shape with looser spin and some depth in the low 60's. Consistently filled the strike zone and flashed some feel to located to the outer edge of the plate. Excellent student as well.
