Matthew Batts is a 2020 1B/3B with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Brentwood, TN who attends Brentwood. Extra large build, athletic and projectable frame. Ran a 7.36 60 yard dash. Primary first baseman, decent actions to the baseball, plays the ball high to waist, easy transfer with a quick release, showed ability to throw from multiple arm angles with solid arm strength. Lefthanded hitter, upright and slightly open stance, high hand set with a high back elbow, simple leg lift trigger, rotational lower half working to a tall front side, inside hand path to baseball, line drive barrel plane through extension, middle of the field approach with some feel to both gaps. Good student.
