Alex Crews is a 2020 SS/2B with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Chalmette, LA who attends Chalmette HS. Recorded a 7.20 60-yard dash. Medium frame with long limbs and plenty of room to fill out and add strength. Primary shortstop with a clean gather and exchange. Smooth actions throughout while showing solid footwork to boot. Arm strength projects and solid tools all around. Righthanded hitter with a spread, even stance. Loose swing on a naturally lofted swing plane. Up the middle approach and stays balanced through contact. Medium hand set with an inward leg lift trigger into the stride. Short swing that travels through an inside path. Flashed hand speed throughout the swing with the ability to drive the ball to all fields including to the opposite field. Excellent student.
