2004 Sunshine East Showcase
Caleb Nemitz is a young, Class of 2007, outfielder from Ft. Myers, FL, with a projectable body and some very good present skills. He hits from a tall, open stance with little load or trigger and pretty much stays open the entire time. Nemitz obviously needs to gain some added strength to swing wood effectively, but showed a very patient and polished approach at the plate and did a good job working the whole field in batting practice and in games. He had a couple of nice hits in the games off live pitching. Defensively, Nemitz has very good speed and showed a smooth and fluid arm stroke from the outfield that indicates his arm’s going to keep getting stronger as well. There’s no reason that Nemitz shouldn’t keep improving with hard work and put himself on the prospect charts.
