Cain Johnson is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Centennial. Medium build, lean and skinny frame with room to fill. Ran a 6.81 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, could utilize lower half more into fielding mechanics, long arm action into throws up to a 3/4 arm angle, developing arm strength and carry to the bag, accurate arm that topped out at 76 mph from the outfield. Secondary pitcher who also pitched at the event, pitched exclusively from the stretch, lift leg up to belt line, long arm action up to a high 3/4 slot, would like to see front side used more for improved arm speed, gets downhill some. Fastball showed some run to armside topping out at 76 mph, was not afraid to elevate the fastball, could implement the use of an offspeed pitch for added effectiveness. Righthanded hitter, extra wide base, lower hand set, arm bars out at load, direct inside path to contact that gets long at times, uphill swing plane, showed patience at the plate in game with the ability to go the opposite way.
