2019 Gulf Coast Prospect Showcase
Michael Perry is a 2020 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Munford, TN who attends Munford. Showed an extra large frame with an already filling out build showing a stocky frame. Ran a 7.45 second sixty yard dash. Primary Lefthanded pitcher working with a slow side step rocker and lift to a belt high leg kick. Slower motion to start and then picks up the pace before delivering. Delivered from a high three-quarter arm slot with a full follow through to finish. Fastball showed some downhill plane while running arm side topping out at 78 MPH. Changeup showed the same out of hand as the fastball as well getting plenty of swings and misses. Secondary Outfielder who worked to the baseball with choppy steps before showing a clean gather. Slows weight down before throwing high arching throws while being around the bag with the throws at times. Righthanded hitter starting from a very spread out stance with no leg kick or weight transfer. Uphill swing plane creating some loud contact with advanced bat speed. Gap to gap type approach with some pull side power showing.
