Cody Farr is a 2021 C/RHP/MIF with a 5-6 151 lb. frame from Houston, MS who attends Houston HS. Young, square shouldered build with a projectable frame, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front with two hands, stays low through actions, compact arm action, overall arm strength and will continue to develop moving forward with additional lower half involved. Also pitched, gathers over the rubber at start before showing compact arm action and tight release from an over-the-top release point; gets on top of fastball and generates plane, mostly true life on fastball which topped out at 73 mph. Worked fastball to both sides, landed curveball for strikes at 62 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a hand set that is pulled back at start. Upper body dominant swing, hands pulled back disrupts timing with swing. Linear path through the zone and shows comfort turning on the ball to the pull side, full swing path, shows bat speed and keeps hands inside the baseball.
