Wade Denton is a 2022 SS/2B, OF with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Georgetown, TX who attends Georgetown. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build, has room to fill throughout and grow moving forward. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well to the ball and shows athleticism in actions, clean glove work out front, quick release working to a lower slot on throws across the diamond with consistent accuracy. Bounce to step in the outfield, arm strength plays with nice carry to intended base, showed nice upside. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread and even stance in the box; loads back at start of swing, utilizes a simple leg lift trigger. Gets on plane and hands work in swing well, compact hand path. Contact oriented approach, handles the barrel well and projects with added strength, worked middle and pull side, occasionally gets to front side early. Excellent student. Named to National Underclass South Top Prospect List.
