Ethan Winslow is a 2023 C/3B with a 5-9 148 lb. frame from Kingsburg, CA who attends Kingsburg. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to grow and fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a lower set behind the plate, receives the ball out front, quick coming out of crouch, shows quickness to arm action and popped a 2.08, upper body dominant release and projects with additional lower half incorporated into release. Gets low moving through the ball in the outfield, can utilize additional footwork through the ball, nice present arm strength with a full stroke and comes out cleanly with accuracy. Also pitched, deliberate tempo with leg kick and works to an over-the-top release with a longer arm stroke in the box. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, short life down in the zone and mixed a 12-6 shaped curveball at 61 mph with developing depth. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open and wide base and a medium hand set in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box and keeps weight on backside throughout. Long swing path through the zone and shows quickness to barrel, swings with intent. Ball jumps when squared, worked to the middle and pull side parts of the field, occasionally too inside the ball but has potential to unlock additional strength with refinements. Excellent student.
