2021 Summer Main Event Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Stewart Bonnecaze is a 2022 RHP/3B/MIF with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Baton Rouge, LA who attends Episcopal. Long and lean athletic build, very projectable physically. Has an over the top arm action on the mound and creates nice downhill leverage and angle working down the mound, athletic delivery that he repeats well. Consistent mid-80's fastball, lived down in the zone with good late life to his fastball, plenty more velocity there as he gets stronger. Curveball was a solid second pitch in the upper 60's and he mixed his pitches with good feel and threw strikes with both. 7.04 runner in the sixty. Third base tools and profile in the infield on defense, shows his arm strength well but can improve his footwork for better accuracy, showed feel with the glove and fields cleanly with a good funnel out front. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with limited lower half actions in his swing, loose and extended swing with good bat speed and some natural lift out front, showed his power well in the games with multiple extra base hits that really carried well. Potential two-way player at the next level. Good student. Named to the Summer Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.
