Leo Jenkins is a 2020 C/IF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Beacon. Medium frame with an athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a low, even stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground towards the bag while working out of crouch. Worked through exchange efficiently and released from a high three-quarters arm slot, topped at 77 miles per hour with a best workout pop time of 2.02. Also worked out defensively from the infield and outfielder. From the infield showed clean glove actions while funneling out front. Flashed good range to each side and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Created stiff on line carry to the bag at 85 miles per hour. From the outfield utilized smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the ball. Funnels off to side and worked through exchange quickly. Displayed quality arm strength from the outfield as well topping at 87 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, narrow stance and hanging front side trigger. Coils hands at load and works to contact on a lifted plane. Primarily looked to utilize the middle of the field while showing developing feel for the barrel. Projects for a higher ceiling as an outfield prospect at this time. Excellent student.
