Jonnie Kaney is a 2022 2B/RHP, C, IF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Ormond Beach, FL who attends Seabreeze. Medium frame with a lean build that is starting to fill out. Ran a 7.69 second sixty yard dash. Primary Secondbaseman, deliberate routes to the baseball as he makes sure he keeps it in front of him. Gathers deep and then pats his glove as he works into shuffles. Threw it 76 MPH across the diamond in drills. Secondary Righthanded Pitcher, working exclusively from the stretch as he works into a belt high leg lift while coiled over a bit. Long arm action as he delivers from a high three-quarter slot. Solid three pitch mix as he tunneled them all well. Very deceptive. Fastball was up to 75 MPH as he mixed in a curveball showing depth and a late dropping changeup. Held runners on well and fielded his position too. Righthanded Hitter, starting from a balanced stance with a short load. Front side a bit open upon swing as he took big hacks at the baseball. Steep swing path as he flashed a middle to pull side approach. Good Student.
