2016 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Kristofer Blanco is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Summerville, SC who attends Cane Bay Sr High School. Very young player, medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.11 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, showed a short arm action, soft hands, and accurate throws across. At the plate, started with a slightly open stance, wide base, high hand set, and a left timing mechanism. Showed quick hands and good bat speed with an inconsistent swing plane. Limited lower half in swing with ability to still turn the barrel. Used a pull oriented approach and worked up the middle as well. Would continue to improve with additional lower half in swing. Also pitched, online delivery, generated extension, quick arm, and a compact arm circle. Around the zone effectively with 72-74 mph fastball with arm side life and sink to the lower third. Also showed curveball with 10/4 shape and developing depth. Good student.
