Josh Romero is a 2017 2B with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends South Houston High School. Mature, strongly built frame with strength proportioned throughout frame and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, deliberate actions moving to the ball, shows quick transfer out of the glove into a full arm action through the backside, gets on top of throws well, backhand will continue to develop, shows some effort out of hand, accurate throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box, tall and narrow stance. Begins with a leg lift trigger, shows quickness to hands with a full swing path through the zone, keeps hands inside the ball, upright at start and gets short at contact. Mostly upper body involved in swing, shows ability to turn on inner half pitch with rhythm to swing. Very good student.
