Austin Thompson is a 2019 MIF/RHP with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Sneads Ferry, NC who attends Dixon HS. Recorded a 7.27 second 60-yard dash time. Tall and physically projectable frame with a lean, lanky build. Primary middle infielder with solid footwork and works through the ball. Currently developing arm strength and has solid fundamental skills. Fields well out in front and stays low through his throws well. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a very long arm action through a full arm circle. Over the top arm slot and flashed some cut on the fastball as well as consistent downhill plane. Turn step into a leg lift above the belt. Loose arm with definite arm talent. Righthanded hitter with a wide base and high hand set with a high back elbow. Line drive swing plane with a spread open stance. Fluidity to the swing path and turned the barrel over well to the pull side. Went to all fields and is balanced throughout the swing. Excellent student.
