Marson Maynor is a 2017 3B/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from South Elgin, IL who attends St Charles North. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Ran a 7.39 sixty yard dash. Primary third baseman, fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Clean, smooth glove actions while funneling out front. Quick exchanges while working through transition creating good momentum to the bag. Compact arm action at release creating downhill carry across the infield, topped at 78 mph. Also worked out defensively from the outfield. Releases from a taller body position creating uphill carry at release. Creates good momentum to the bag with a small crow hop lower half. Topped at 78 mph to the bag with some carry and accuracy. Right handed hitter with a slightly open stance and toe tap trigger. Lower half launches to contact with linear actions creating good shift. Stays balanced throughout swing with a line drive approach. Consistently squared up contact throughout batting practice with developing strength at contact. Tools will continue to develop with continued physical maturity. Very good student as well.
