Tyler Pon is a 2017 RHP/SS with a 5-9 141 lb. frame from Elk Grove, CA who attends Capital Christian HS. Has a medium frame, medium build, and room to continue to put on additional muscle. Posted a 7.39 second sixty yard dash. From the mound, full hands over the head delivery with slight phases, throws from an over the top to high, three-quarters arm slot with downhill plane. Showed two different breaking balls, curveball shows solid depth and looks to get swing and misses, slider has 10/4 slurvy shape and throws it for strikes, changeup has fade out of the zone, good mix of off speed pitches. From the infield, showed solid range and longer arm action on throws. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with an upright stance, high hand set, and toe tap trigger. Uses a middle of the field approach, swings on a line drive swing plane, lower half gets in good position to launch. Excellent student.
