Daniel Patton is a 2019 SS/OF/UT with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Homewood, AL who attends Homewood HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with room for more. Switch-hitter, looked more practiced and comfortable from the right side especially in his timing, loose swing from the right side with some bat speed, uphill plane with some lift, projects well right handed. Left handed swing is loose and extended as well but tends to get way out on his front side and lose bat speed and leverage by contact. 7.39 runner, has quick hands and a quick exchange on defense, charges the ball well, has some arm strength and carry, sound overall actions defensively. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a long arm action in back and a short stride out front, delivery was easy and repeatable. Mid-70's fastball topped out at 77 mph, good change up with some sink, threw strikes and challenged hitters. Very good student.
