Matthew Stoner is a 2017 OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Keller, TX who attends Keller. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball and gets behind it nicely, extra step at release, full arm action coming through the back working to an over the top slot, comes out of hand cleanly and shows quickness, gets on top, arm strength will continue to develop with additional physical strength. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and high back elbow in the box. Short and direct swing to the ball, stays inside throughout swing, simple load with lower half moving into contact. Gets occasionally off with timing and hits off of front side but handles the barrel and creates contact to pull side, contact approach. Excellent student.
