Sawyer Duarte is a 2020 RHP/ with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Sands Point, NY who attends Chaminade HS. Recorded a 5.06 second 40-yard dash time. Athletic frame with long limbs and lots of room to add strength. Primary righthanded pitcher with good tempo to his delivery and athletic movements throughout. Short arm stroke and throws from a high three-quarters arm slot. Arm has some whip to it and had a fastball that topped out at 84 mph with late arm side run and sink to the pitch. Curveball had good spin with big 11/5 break to the pitch. Worked to both sides of the plate and showed good control and feel of the strike zone. Flashed a changeup as well for a strong three pitch mix. Arm strength played well at secondary position of infield. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set, high back elbow, and a hanging leg lift trigger. Effort in swing with a high bat finish and could work to both fields. Good student. Named to the 2018 NE Indoor Top Prospect List.
