Gabriel Rodriguez is a 2020 1B/RHP with a 6-2 225 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends American Senior. Extra large frame. Ran a 7.77 second 60 yard dash. Primary first baseman, worked out at the position with quickness to his movements, bounces off of the bag and throws with effort, looks to get the ball released quickly and does so well, topped out at 75 mph from first base. Secondary righthanded pitcher, starts his delivery with a side rocker step up to a belt high leg lift, takes his arm back to a compact arm action up to an over the top arm slot, plunges arm downward at take back, stays online with his lower half down the mound, fastball topped out at 75 mph, mixes in a curveball with lots of feel and developing spin. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a slightly open stance, hands sit deep as he lifts leg for timing, shifts well and gets hands going to the baseball, generates an uphill path to contact, pull side power approach. Outstanding student.
