Cord Neal is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Chester, TX who attends Chester HS. Neal has a medium sized frame with some strength. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He has a drop and drive style delivery and pitches with some effort. Neal lands with his front foot pointed open and he spins over his frontside at landing. He throws an 11/5 curveball with some shape to it. Neal got some occasional hard bite to it and got swings and misses on his curveball. He could really improve his consistency with keeping his frontside closed longer. Defensively he has developing defensive actions at 1B and showed some arm strength up to 82 MPH across the diamond. At the plate Neal starts with a slightly open stance and uses a hand back load. He takes a hack and has an aggressive approach. He made solid middle of the field to opposite field contact with some oppo pop. Very good student.
