Taisei Kitahara is a 2017 OF with a 5-9 158 lb. frame from Tokyo, TK who attends St. Mary'S International School. Medium frame with a lean, athletic frame. Projects for additional strength. Left handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Hands launch on a compact, inside path to contact. Consistently barreled up contact resulting in line drive contact to the middle of the field. Simple, repeatable swing plane that will continue to develop with physical maturity. Worked out defensively from the outfield showing a high energy, three-quarters arm action topping at 87 mph. Throws produces accurate on line carry to the bag. Creates good momentum through transitions with quick, clean glove to hand exchanges. Good student as well.
