Spencer Mangum is a 2020 SS/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Winter Springs, FL who attends Oviedo. Large athletic frame with square shoulders and strength throughout. Ran a 7.38 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Athletic movements to the baseball. Centers himself well and works through the ball and towards the base. Fields out front with whip to arm action. Has some range and fluidity to him. Sinking throws to the bag topping out at 76 MPH. Righthanded hitter with a slightly open stance and high leg lift trigger for timing. Shows feel for the barrel making contact out in front. Line drive plane through the zone generating occasional lift. Works contact to all fields with relative ease. Secondary righthanded pitcher with an easy effort delivery and above the belt leg lift. Slight hip coil at the gather. Shows solid direction to the plate with a short arm action in the back and into a high three-quarter release. Sinking arm side action on the fastball and willing to add and subtract at times, while topping out at 80 MPH. Fills the zone early and will mix in an 11-to-5 breaking ball with the ability to land it on the edges with some consistency. Very good student as well.
