Ian Johnson is a 2023 1B/LHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Green Bay, WI who attends Preble. Recorded a 7.85 second 60 yard dash time. Tall frame with room to fill, projects well. Primary first baseman, fields it out front with two hands, has a solid understanding of the footwork, developing foot quickness. Long arm action, recorded throws at 73 mph, clean round overall. Secondary left-handed pitcher with a long arm action, comes from a three-quarters slot with normal flex. Lands on the first base side with good extension and finish, falls off to the third base side a bit. Low effort delivery, features a slower curveball with 2/8 shape and a changeup as his secondary offerings. Left-handed hitter with a tall stance and quiet approach. Lift and replace trigger, deep hand load with some bat speed present. Good balance and extension, produced solid contact, projects well with added refinement. Great student.
