2018 Southeast Prospect Showcase
Jacob Howell is a 2020 RHP/1B, 3B, SS with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Sharpsburg, GA who attends East Coweta HS. Recorded a 7.40 second 60-yard dash time. Extra large frame with long limbs and tons of room for additional strength. Primary righthanded pitcher with a short arm stroke and good extension out in front. High three-quarters arm slot and the ball comes out cleanly. Downhill plane with some arm side run on the fastball that topped out at 85 mph. Curveball has tight 11.5 shape and depth to the pitch. Works quickly and athleticism plays on the mound. Maintained velocity very well and racked up a lot of swings and misses. Arm strength played from secondary position of the infield. Righthanded hitter with a direct path to contact and a line drive approach. Good power and has natural loft to the swing plane. Impact strength off the barrel and power is going to project very nicely. Present bat speed and legitimate two-way type. Good student. Named to the 2018 Southeast Prospect Showcase.
