Luke Garcia is a 2019 OF/C with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from Whittier, CA who attends La Serna HS. Compact frame with a strong build. Projects for additonal strength. Right handed hitter with a straight, balanced stance and higher hand set. Lower half lauches with rotational actions and good shift to contact. Shows good hand quickness while launching to contact with a compact, line drive path. Primarily uses a mid-field approach, but shows the barrel and hand skills to work the baseball to all fields. Flashed solid bat speed and extension when working the baseball to the opposite field gap. Worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth tempo actions while working through transition. Aggresive closing actions baseball and works through with clean glove to hand exchanges. Created some momentum through baseball while releasing with slight uphill angle that produced some carry and accuracy to the bag. Very good student as well.
